Great explanation. I didn’t realize there was a difference in the smooth/rough sides of a fresnel lens. I’ll be experimenting with that.
I’m thinking that with a gimbaled hour-hand clock mechanism for sun tracking, a copper coil boiler at the focal point, and a steam engine driven permanent magnet alternator…
Hmmmm…you get my point.

It’s a stock music sample/sound effect that comes with programs like iMovie, GarageBand, and Final Cut Pro. Basically if you have a Mac you have that “song”.

Excellent way to show the fp. The water spray at the end was neat as well. I agree with darkvader47.. you would make a good teacher.

Thank you very much!!!!!!

You would make a good science teacher, and I wouldn’t be bored at all. I’m a professional photographer and you’ve taught me more about Focal Length than I ever understood in photography class, honestly.

This brings back memories of Physics labs, where we found the focal length by using the reflection method. This way is far much cooler. Write a book Dan please do.
